Why Email Assistants Still Aren't Built for Us

Copilot, Fyxer, Superhuman — great tech for the wrong problem.
Email assistants promise freedom: less typing, fewer hours fighting your inbox. And to be fair — they do make inboxes nicer.
But they were built for:
- Tech workers
- Executives
- Sales teams
- General knowledge workers
Not for people selling creative services with custom pricing and fixed event dates.
What they can’t do:
- Extract key booking details from leads (date, location, hours)
- Match those to specific service packages
- Check for real availability in a calendar
- Respect minimum hours, travel fees, VAT rules
- Detect legit business leads vs. photography newsletters
- Generate a quote-correct response instead of a “just replying”
In other words:
They clean up email. They don’t handle your business logic.
Menvin specializes:
- Weddings vs. corporate? Different templates.
- Pricing structure? Locked into rules.
- 150km away? Add travel surcharge.
- Booked on that date? Polite decline with upsell options.
- Late-night inbox? Drafts waiting for you in the morning.
It doesn’t just help send emails. It thinks like a photographer’s business.
Because when you’re exhausted after a 12-hour shoot, you shouldn’t have to negotiate with software just to reply to a new client.
